"Chasing the Bloom in the Southern Appalachians"  This talk is an update to a prior talk focusing on the floral richness in the Southern Appalachians. Don prepared the current version for the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden's Winter Symposium in February 2025. Don wrote the original article "Chasing the Bloom"  for the North American Rock Garden Society several years ago. It does emphasize the wealth of native azalea and rhododendron species from the region and the scenic places where they grow, but it also includes the many wildflowers and companion plants that complete the landscape throughout the season. This updated version did discuss the serious damage to some areas caused by Hurricane Helene last September.
