Vlad Andrenkov willl start with a brief introduction to the Toronto Cactus and Succulent Club (TC&SC), followed by a general overview of cacti and succulents, including the Cactaceae family, their distribution, and some of the main groups of cacti. The main focus will be on cold-hardy cacti, with examples of suitable species and their natural distributions illustrated with maps. I’ll also share my personal experience growing hardy cacti in my own rock garden, discussing the pros and cons of growing hardy cacti and succulents in Southern Ontario, along with practical advice on cultivation and overwintering.
