September 2025 Member's Plant sale
September 14, 2025 beginning 12:30 pm,
at the monthly meeting with Laura Grant

Our big September Member's plant sale is just around the corner, and we need lots of plants—more than we had in spring, please!

If you can contribute, make sure your plants are priced and labeled, and bring them to the TBG by noon on sale day for a 12:30 pm start. If you're unsure about pricing, we'll help you when you get here.

Please note: all unsold plants must be taken home. We'll do our best to sell everything, and appreciate your understanding.

If you'd like to rent your own table, please contact the Board at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by September 7.

Laura Grant will bring plants; Bob Ramik will be demonstrating how to plant azaleas in clay. Peter Keeping will have clematis, honeysuckle and Dutchman’s pipe. Susan Payne will be selling hostas, and Arie Vanspronsen will have some cyclamen in bloom and also will bring alpine-related books.

If you're willing to lend a hand selling, no matter your experience level, we'd love to have your help. Reach out to Virginia Hildebrandt.

Let’s make this our best fall sale yet!

September Members Showcase: Paying it Forward by Saving Seeds

It’s time to think about collecting seeds and we will have a session devoted to that in our September Members Showcase. From spotting seeds that are ready for harvesting, to cleaning and packaging them, this will be a valuable resource for this year and years to come.

Saving seeds pays it forward in so many ways:

  • It ensures if your treasured plant doesn’t return next year, you still have seeds.
  • You can begin a small forest of what you love.
  • It makes a wonderful Christmas offering to the horticulturally-inclined on your gift list.
  • You can use them to donate to our Seedex.
  • Sharing special seeds endears you to the recipient.
  • The seeds that you harvest are tried and true in our hardiness zone, so you know they are suited to similarly situated gardens.
